Parris Island Mcx - You've been running all morning, from event to event, getting used to the land, and now it's time for lunch. but where can you go If it's Family Day, your new Marine can't leave the base. Your options are limited. In addition to the Liceo, you can dine at four other locations in the Depot; they are the Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) Food Court, The Sand Trap Grill, Subway and Bricks. We used to have Backyard Burger but they are no longer on base.
If you choose the MCX Food Court, they have plenty of indoor seating, or if you prefer the outdoors, there are picnic tables outside the MCX facing Vic Ave. Just be aware that we have a lot of insects here and it can get very hot in the summer. The food court offers a variety of favorites including burgers, pizza and chicken quesadillas. In the morning you can have something for breakfast like their breakfast burrito, which is my personal favorite. It has scrambled eggs, cheese and rolls, all stuffed into a giant burrito. Hmm! I think it has onion in it too, but I always order it without it. If you're in a hurry, you can buy hoagie/sub (cold sandwiches), chips and pre-made drinks from the coffee shop on the right. My husband and I do that when we need to avoid the long lines.

Another option is The Sand Trap Grill at Legends Golf Course. They serve breakfast and lunch. You can grab cheeseburgers, club sandwiches, chicken tenders, hot dogs, BLTs and more...buy the sandwiches on their own or with fries and a drink. My favorite is the chicken tenders with honey mustard sauce and fries. Hum. Legends is at the end of the island, so make sure you allow plenty of time to go, eat and come back.
Weekend In Hilton Head And Parris Island With Our New Marine + Top Family Things To Do
Subway is located in the bowling center of Samoa. They have tables inside, but on Wednesdays and Thursdays they are very full. On Family Day every Thursday only, Bricks parks a silver mobile in the parking lot in front of the subway. They have burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, and fries. Dominos Pizza is also in the parking lot opposite the subway. In addition, they are only open on Family Day every Thursday.
On Thursdays, the Liceo offers a Family Buffet from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Well, let's recap: On Wednesdays if you want to stay on base, you can dine at the MCX Food Court, The Sand Trap Grill, and Subway. On Thursdays, your family can enjoy a buffet lunch at the Lyceum, MCX Food Court, Sand Trap Grill, Subway or Bricks. Take advantage!

Don't make a one-time visit; sign up for my free mini guide and I'll send you 6 weekly emails with tips and resources to help you get the most out of your visit to Parris Island. One of the perks of dining at MCX is the food court looking around the store after you finish your meal. It's nice to shop and give your stomach a break after a big helping of quesadillas, burgers and fries. The quesadillas are so big that we usually get one and split. There are restrooms nearby if you need to wash your hands after walking around the base. You order and wash the dishes and your food will be ready before you know it. Note that on Family Day, all dining options on base can fill up quickly, so get there early if you can.
Bricks on Boundary is a bar and restaurant located on Boundary Street in downtown Beaufort. A few weeks ago, they began deploying their maneuver force to Parris Island. I saw them last week while running away from the crowd waiting to enter the subway door! The converted Silver Streak trailer was parked alone and there was no waiting so I got out of my Highlander and called 411. They said they started parking there a few weeks ago and only on Family Day every Thursday. “This is amazing!” I yelled over the noise of the generator, asking if I could take some photos for my blog.
Convicted Parris Island Drill Instructor To Be Reduced In Rank, Reprimanded
So I called my husband and asked if he would try it and stood in line to decide what to order. The menu is simple, A Bomber Double Double (1/4lb double cheeseburger), Napalm Bomber (blackened cheeseburger with jalapeños), Southern BBQ (1/4lb burger and BBQ pork on a bun), Fries American fries and cans of soda.
I paid by credit card and it was only 6 minutes from the time I ordered my food. When I got out, I took a look at the subway, and the line was all the way to the door. More and more people noticed Bricks, and soon there was a queue for them too. So if you want a burger and fries or barbecue, try the Mobil Brick on a Thursday.
Back at work, we ate some delicious burgers and fries. The burgers are huge and the BBQ pork is even bigger with a 1/4 pound burger. Because I got back so quickly, we even had a few minutes for the food to be cooked before going back to work. 🙂
Subway does a fantastic job of feeding as many people as quickly as possible on Family Day. I especially like salads. You can have the meat they put on the falafel. Choose from lettuce, spinach, and shredded cheese, then add whatever veggies you like. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but get there early to avoid long lines.
Restaurants On Parris Island
Sand Trap Grill has a bigger menu than Brick's, but it's further away on the south end of Parris Island, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there and back in time. They have Patty Melts, sandwiches, hot dogs, and my favorite, chicken fingers. You can order it on its own or with fries and a drink.
Here's a sampling of what we ate last time: crispy breaded pork chops, roasted vegetables, spinach, macaroni and cheese, and you could see some sweet potato sprouts on top of the pork chops. Potato wedges are usually made traditionally, but now they also have delicious potato wedges.
